Cambridge Switch on Christmas Lights….

Thankfully the sun was shining albeit a bit chilly for our trip to Cambridge to witness the switching on of the Christmas Lights. Haven’t been to Cambridge for a while, which is unusual for us. We arrived about 11 ish and parked in our usual ‘secret spot’ not really a big secret – its just free, close to a park and a lovely walk by the river into the centre! We passed one of the many art studios/shops along Kings Parade and something caught our eye. There were some fantastic wall hangings which were basically felt pom poms on the ends of varying lengths of wire which were attached to a canvas. They were tactile pieces and admirers were encouraged to touch the pom poms and watch them shiver and shake, quite mesmerising. The girls loved them.

We made our way to our usual eatery ‘Tatties’ which is usually very good but today we found the service somewhat disappointing.

We bumped into some friends in the market which was nice to catch up. Had a browse round some of the lovely quirky shops, were entertained by street entertainers and the Snow Queen and her cheeky ice elf..

….before making our way back to the market for the ‘big switch on’. So that was that, forgot to take photos of the lights but got one of the girls having a giggle….
