In need of some fresh air….

Up and about relatively early so whilst I cleared away breakfast things the girls were having a think about what lapbook they would like to make a start on so had a look on the internet and found themselves on the National Geographic website. Spent ages navigating round watching some of the videos about tasmanian devils, dolphins and various other wild animals. They also found a fun game where you complete the captions for the animal pictures – this website certainly ticked a number of boxes 🙂

We have been in desperate need of a good walk and fresh air so we wrapped up warm and went for a very long walk round the village – through fields, over streams and up hills, delivering Poppy’s birthday invitations. Saw lots of birds hunting for food the girls did a pretty good job of identifying most of them. We have decided that this week we are going to make some bird feeders.

Got back home just before lunch and warmed ourselves up with a hot chocolate – YUM! And settled down to watch Victorian Farm Christmas which was fantastic! The girls then watched a couple of episodes of Horrible Histories and I made chocolate brownies! 🙂

Skye is desperate to start guitar lessons – she already has a guitar and my cousin is a self taught musician in a local band and has agreed to give her lessons – i just need to organise it! Poppy and Skye sat for quite a while having a go a making music and had a great time 🙂

We decided to try out the sewing machine they got for Christmas. The girls tried a couple of sample stitches to get the feel for it and after a couple of hours, Skye, with a little help from me, had produced a fantastic cow hand puppet!! I was very impressed and she was suitably proud of herself!

Quick pasta lunch then jumped into a freezing car – dropped Skye with Wayne at work and Poppy and I went to gym – yet again I was the only coach who turned up so had to borrow a coach from B squad to help me out. Our group had a great time doing front somersaults on the trampoline 🙂

After coaching had a quick 20 minute catch up with Merry, which was lovely. Really do need to get back into our Monday routine again soon but a bit of an odd week next week so will have to have a think.

Arrived home and the girls watched a bit of TV with Wayne before going to bed.

I have had a lovely day today – I think 2010 is going to be good for us 🙂

Puppet is brilliant – very impressed. Maybe going halves on some patterns would be good since both sets of girls are keen to machine. F and S could presumably share dress patterns.

Lovely to see you last night – Amelie had a ball (isn’t even stiff this morning!) – looking forward to getting back to our routine too 🙂

Thank you – i’ll pass your comment onto S 🙂 Pattern sharing sounds like a great idea! My Auntie has loads of patterns – size 8 and 10 from the 60s and 70s – very simple tunic style dresses and tops which might be good to start 🙂

Pleased that Amelie got on well – she did look so little though!
