Eye, eye!

With our EHEO visit planned today, the girls continued working on their lapbooks they started yesterday evening whilst I rummaged around finding ‘evidence’. Skye is working on a Maine Coon Cat book and Poppy is doing The Victorians.

Visit went VERY well and have blogged separately. We were planning a lovely sunny autumnal walk in celebration but it started to rain 😦

So, watched a Cow’s Eye Dissection online instead! It was rather disgusting; Skye and I found it very interesting but Poppy struggled to watch it! Not for the squeamish – you have been warned! It’s quite a good website with lots of bits to explore so will have a closer look at some of that another time.

Still raining so back to lapbooks until lunchtime 🙂

Following discussion at Latinetc, H suggested we take a look at Real Science 4 Kids level 2 Chemistry. Read chapter 1.1 with S and P and I am sure with H taking the lead (I am truly hopeless at Science) will be fine 🙂

After lunch both girls logged onto Mathletics and then as a reward for their hard work and for being extra specially lovely they went onto Club Penguin and then Just Dance on the Wii!

Skye had a drum lesson this afternoon; my cousin has just invested in a new electric drum kit which is rather fabulous and Skye was beside herself with excitement!! Had a great lesson. She looked so much more relaxed playing an electric kit, maybe it was because it was the right size as the acoustic one she was using was a little on the small side! She seemed to read the music better too which was probably because she had headphones on and couldn’t hear my cousin instructing her – it was down to her to read it and play it. Definitely on her Christmas list 🙂

Back home for tea and a quick change then off to Scouts for a Halloween themed evening complete with apple bobbing and pumpkin carving. Poppy and I played Animal Crossing and had a Mario Kart challenge on the ds before collecting Skye, who came out with only one side of her pumpkin – a cutting error obliterated the other side!!

Home and bed – busy day tomorrow!
