Friday I went to work and had a very busy day 🙂 Wayne worked for the morning before collecting the girls from K’s following their sleepover – they had a great time but did have to be told to settle down around mid-night!

They went home via Woodgreen [not exactly via as they drove past our house to get there], anyway, the girls and Wayne have seen a dog, Mozart, whom they are rather fond of and have made tentative enquiries about him! I agreed that we would go along on Saturday morning to see him.

The rest of the afternoon involved more Mathletics and researching dogs on the internet! They also watched Autumnwatch which we had recorded.

I arrived home from work and was bombarded with dog related conversation! They are so desperate to get one and we had originally said Spring next year but I have a feeling that it will be sooner than that.

Saturday morning after our croissant breakfast 🙂 we went to visit Mozart at Woodgreen. There is no denying he is a lovely affectionate dog but SOOOO big!! He’s a 10 month old deer hound cross and just huge with a little more growing to do. We had a lengthy chat with a lovely lady who works there and decided that he would not be an ideal choice for us. Mainly because we need a dog that is okay for the girls to walk and he would just be too strong for them. So, although disappointed, the girls understood the reasons why he was unsuitable. And so our search continues. A quick visit to the Thrift shop picking up a board game, Labyrinth, we made our way into town to run some banking errands. Picked up some more crafting stuff and some citric acid so we can make sherbet (thank you for the idea Kirsty :))

Once home, Wayne helped the girls scoop out their pumpkin ready for them to carve and I made a start on making a Christmas present for my lovely friend S. Wayne made Pumpkin and Parsnip soup which we are going to have tomorrow 😀 I made some smoothie ices and cleared up pumpkin inners that had scattered themselves everywhere! Mum and Dad called in for a cuppa 🙂 and the girls watched a movie we had recorded for them, not quite sure what it was.

Later the girls and I made a few more Christmas cards before snuggling down to watch ‘Merlin’. I really do need to order Series 1 and 2 at some point. Girls went off to bed, I blogged and Wayne fell asleep on the sofa!

The sherbert is really quite cool – maybe I’m just easily pleased though 😉

We were planning on making it today but Poppy used the last of the icing sugar to ice the cup cakes she made 🙂

Is there a greyhound rescue place near you? We have a rescue lurcher from http://www.tiagreyhounds.org.uk/ and they make lovely pets.

Could they not just ride the dog?
